Covellite

First off let me say that I absolutely love Covellite, I love the energy not to mention the color! It is one of my favorites. The color on this particular piece is a deep blue with a red purple flash of color running through it. Again I got this cabochon from Chris as well as the amazing opal. I built this setting out of soft wax, had it cast into silver. This is another piece that is my mothers. I added in the moon and star cause that is just what I felt lead to do. The back is cut out, one of my signature signs on my pieces. I have another pendant that is mine but I haven't quite finished it yet, when I do will post some pics.

A Tiger's Meow

This is a piece I made for someone who didn't end up wanting it in the end, it scarred me for a short while. Sometimes I am just too sensitive, but it was a great learning process for me. But anywho, this is a tiger eye cabochon that is domed on both sides from Chris, with two grossular garnets one on top and one on the bottom. Both of them have been faceted by Martin. These garnets are spectacular and the color on them is just gorgeous. They go great with the tiger eye. The setting I built out of soft wax and had cast in to 14ct yellow gold. I picked out two prong settings which I soldered onto the setting. I then set the stones, and then the tigers eye. My signature on my pieces is having the back cut out so the energy of the stone can come through while you are wearing it. Again I apologize for my camera it isn't the best for taking these kinds of pictures, but you can see what it looks like. This is definitely a power piece to wear, meeeow!

Papillon

This is a yellow gold butterfly necklace I made for my mom. It is on the larger side. I designed it out of soft wax. The body of the butterfly is a koroit opal, which I got from my friend Chris the wired artist. I love his work, and did I mention his love for opals! And the head is green glass, faceted by Martin. My mom really wanted a butterfly necklace, and honestly this piece took me a while, like years to do. I just started it one day, stuck it away and didn't finish it until earlier this year. Must have been the right time for her to get it and be able to wear, for she is getting ready to fly. Again my camera isn't the greatest in this kind of shot, but you get the idea! I wanted to try and show you all the color in the opal!

My first

This is my first major necklace I finished. Most of my jewelry that I make has an organic feel to it. It doesn't look like you bought it at Tiffany's for sure, that just isn't my style. This necklace is a very special piece to me. To start, it has a 10 carat untreated aquamarine on top with a prong setting I built for it. I like to work with untreated stones, the energy is just different than those of treated for color intensity. It seems that you can hardly get ahold of stones that are not heat treated for color. They are treating them as they pull them out of the mines. And don't get me started on all the diamond controversy, makes me sick to think what they are doing. Anyways getting back to my lotus pendant. Then I built the lotus flower out of soft wax, and had it cast into gold. With the untreated citrine at the bottom, I got to facet that myself with my dear friend Martin. (who is no longer with us, had a massive heart attack and died at the age of 36) I picked it out from a batch of rough citrine, and I faceted that into a brilliant round. I didn't get to facet anymore stones with Martin, this citrine was the only one, hence the specialness. So I built the stage for it all with wax wires and once I got the lotus back I metal smithed, it to the necklace, and then set the two stones. The necklace is yellow gold and white gold. My camera isn't the greatest for taking these kind of pictures, but you can see what it looks like.

stay tuned

Stay tuned for a new post on my jewelry. My honey and I are taking pictures right now! Exciting stuff!

Cherry baby

The way I drive to work I pass by a nursery, and I love their sign that they have. So one day I got an itch to paint. I asked myself , what the hell am I going to paint? All I could think of was that sign I see everyday. So I sat down and painted what I saw in my mind. These are my first paintings I have done.

Be mine

These are only a few of the Valentine's I made this year. I think I made about 15 or so total. The pictures aren't that great but you can get an idea. Most of the stamping that is on them has been embossed with glitters. If you want me to make you some let me know! Each one is unique in itself, they never come out the same.

A dream

I dream of a room that I will have one day, that will hold all my creations (mess, haha). Come on you know how it is when you are creative, and saving stuff to use at some point in time, plus to have all your supplies for how many different kinds of "hobbies". One week painting, the next jewelry, the week after that? I don't like getting that far ahead, lol. In my "room", I can and will have everything in there, and all my "supplies" have their special spot. It will be amazing, and satisfying to have a room of creations that I can call my own. Be able to stop at any point in project and walk out of the room and shut the door, come back it is right there waiting for me.

Plus I think my husband would love to have all my creative odds and ends (again, ah hem...mess, haha) out of our room and have a real bedroom, uncluttered.

One day I will post a picture of my special room. But until then, beware of the bedroom! LOL

2 pages, 1 book

When I found out I was pregnant I decided to do a book for my little girl. My thoughts, feelings, messages and love in a book that I created all just for her. I wrote little sayings for her, and well anyways people who have seen it just flip. They love it, and tell me that I should do something with  so I decided to post a picture so  you can see some of my paper creations. I would like to do baby showers (or bridal showers too) where all the people who come can bring a picture and make a page for the book with their message for the baby. If you are interested let me know! It is a little different approach on activities for showers. It is great, because you can integrate pages from a traditional baby book into a new unique book. And plus constantly add pages and keep expanding into new books.  I would also like to do some classes, I will keep you posted on my progress on that. These are 2 pages from Syra's book, I hope you like them. I am going to try and get some pictures up of my Valentines I made this year for my family.

Been thinking

I have been carrying a trusty notebook that I have been tracking all my thoughts on where I want to go with my blog, and what I want to put in it. Along with that I have started to make and create my personal website, although I am not sure of the name yet. It is a website that you will be able to purchase my creations. So I guess what I am trying to say in an indirect way is I am getting excited again about getting my creative self linked to the world. You could say I am getting ready to expose myself!?! Well there is a part of me that feels that way. A few people have seen my stuff, jewelry and paintings. There is a part of me that thinks if I don't expose then I cannot get rejected or criticized. It is tough being half Leo and half Cancer. A part of me is very out there and in the center of attention and the other part is reserved, cautious, unsure of having the spotlight on me, until I get comfortable then watch out! But it takes a while for the cancer side to feel comfortable. haha It is funny when I stop to think, there is a part of me that is exposed right now in what I am revealing with what I am writing, but then again I haven't really told anyone about this blog yet!
